Business Meeting Part 2

Finally, I managed to finish the second part of this lesson. It was not easy, but it was quite fun. I hope you enjoy it!

SCRIPT OF THE CONVERSATION:

Simone: Hi Paul, how are you?

Paul: Fine! And yourself?

Simone: Not bad. So, did you look at my proposal?

Paul: No, I didn’t really have time. Can we go over it now?

Simone: Sure. I’ve been thinking about our competitors and if we want to stay competitive we need to modernize our factory. Besides that I also came up with some advertising strategies.

Paul: How much will that cost?

Simone: We have several options ranging from one hundred thousand dollars to half a million.

Paul: We’ll have to discuss that with finance.

Simone: Yes, and e would also need to hire two engineers to help us modernize the factory.

Paul: What about advertising?

Simone: Marketing has some nice ideas for TV commercials.

Paul: TV commercials? Isn’t that a bit too expensive for us?

Simone: I’ll check the costs of it, but quite frankly the higher costs will be justified. We need to be more aggressive to be ahead of our competitors and these investments will result in higher profits for our company.

Paul: We’ll have to take a closer look at these figures, so I want a budget for these investments by the end of the week.

Simone: Ok, absolutely.
